Abstract:In this thesis, the role of the energy policy of the Azerbaijan Republic on foreign policy issues has been discussed. In the first years after its independence, Azerbaijan which is an area of global conflict on energy resources and transmissions in a certain degree, was confronted with serious issues such as political instabilities and occupation. While trying to find a solution to these problems Azerbaijan had to give vital decisions in its foreign policy especially in terms of energy issues. This process inevitably necessitated the interaction of energy, foreign and domestic policy fields. Hence, energy which has helped Azerbaijan develop political, economic and military countries with its allies, at the same time lead to some problems related to foreign policy. Especially the recent experiences in the Caspian region and signing the NABUCCO Agreement, has revealed the energy need in the regional and global conjuncture and the role of the actors in the region. Furthermore, threat centers related to Azerbaijan?s foreign policy which continues to be important and should be taken to account still exists.
