Bu bildirinin amacı, Plotinos'un "Sayılar Üzerine" (Peri Arithmon) adlı yazısında izlediği güzergâhı takip ederek, filozofun şu sorulara nasıl yaklaştığını özetlemektir: Çokluk Bir'den uzaklaşma mı demektir? Sonsuz sayı nedir? Varolnaları sayabiliyorsak, sonsuzluğa 'var' diyebilir miyiz? Sayıların nakledilir olma yolu nedir? Sayının doğası nedir? Sayı mı özden, öz mü sayıdan gelir? Sayı, birimin falanca katından mı ibarettir? İlk ve gerçek sayıları hangi tür varlıklar arasına yerleştirmek gerekir?
The purpose of this presentation is to summarize how Plotinus approached the following questions, following the trajectory of his essay "On Numbers" (Peri Arithmon): Does multiplicity mean a departure from the One? What is infinite number? If we can count existences, can we call infinity "existence"? What is the way in which numbers are communicable? What is the nature of number? Does number come from essence, or does essence come from number? Is number simply a multiple of unity? Among what kinds of entities should the first and real numbers be placed?
