Özet

Over the years, technology integration and technology use in education has been expanding dramatically. Specifically, mobile tools have been utilized in the educational settings to support learning and instruction. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the mobile technology acceptance studies in education in order to reveal prior research efforts, to provide current state of research, and to locate the possible gaps that need further research on mobile technology acceptance in education. For this reason, this study aims to examine graduate dissertations on mobile technology acceptance which were published on the ProQuest database between the years 2005 and 2015. A systematic literature review was performed to identify mobile technology acceptance related variables examined in the field of education. The electronic database ProQuest was searched with specific keywords according to pre- specified inclusion criteria. After exclusion, this paper focuses on 17 graduate dissertations. This study found that UTAUT was the most commonly used model to investigate mobile technology acceptance. It was seen that in the recent years the number of studies increased. The reason for this might be the increase in the mobile technology use rate. Regarding the research design, survey method was mostly preferred. Almost all of the studies were mainly carried out in higher education settings with students and faculty members including instructors. The reason behind this might be due to the fact that students and faculty are the pivotal stakeholders of the technology acceptance.
