In this article, we question the interlinguistic translation of the song from the point of view of the semiotics of translation. Our approach is nourished by the work of the Semiotic School of Paris as well as work done on the translation of music in translation studies. In this study, we present an analysis of the corpus made up of Jacques Brel's La chanson des vieux amants and its Turkish version entitled Şarap Mevsimi [Wine Season] (2012) performed by the singer Funda Arar. Our study contains two parts: The first part concerns the musical evaluation of the original song and its comparison with the translated version from the point of view of the instruments used, the tempo, the musical dynamics, the measure and the musical orientation. As for the second part, we first offer a semantic and thematic study of the lyrics of Brel's song, then that of the Turkish version in order to compare them on three elements of analysis: title, refrain and founding isotopy of the semiotic universe of the song. We conclude by interpreting the changes that have occurred both in the musical component and in the semantic component of the Turkish adaptation according to the new meanings and values that they actualize in the context of the target language and culture.
