Özet

This article examines the possibilities for vivre ensemble (living together) that emerge through the discursive deconstruction of hegemonic masculinity and masculine domination. It employs a qualitative content analysis of social media posts published between 2020 and 2025 by two anti-violence, pro-feminist egalitarian masculinity collectives: Eleştirel Erkeklik Datça İnisiyatifi (Datça Critical Masculinity Initiative) and Eşitlikçi Erkekler Ağı (Egalitarian Men’s Network). These collectives have emerged within the context of the crisis in the gender order, to challenge masculine domination and to advocate for an egalitarian gender order. This research shows that these collectives produce discourses in which they critically interrogate their own relation to hegemonic masculinity and masculine domination, while also seeking to transform their masculinities. At the same time, they strive for a wider dissemination of egalitarian masculinities. These masculinities are open to feminist and LGBTQI+ movements and reflect a willingness to stand in solidarity with them.
