Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to present an evaluation of the relationships between space and new social movements through the LGBTI+ movement. Although the Turkish state has never outlawed the LGBTI+ movement illegal, the terms like "morality" or "public order" are presented as the reason of various interventions by the state. Certainly, the spaces of the movement are targeted by these interventions. Thanks to the interviews carried out with LGBTI+ activists from the major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, this thesis includes their views as the main sources and aims to implement the resistance and the mobilization of LGBTI+ people through space.
